He loves singing, dancing, and napping. Boston’s first experience doing ballroom was during 8th grade at Elk Ridge Middle School, where he learned some basic steps at an after school workshop. He immediately fell in love, and the idea of trying out for Bingham’s Ballroom team began to look more and more appealing. Lucky for him, he made the team. He has been blessed to meet so many people and to make so many different memories and connections. Boston has felt so blessed to be the boys captain this year. Carter JensenCarter has been dancing since 6th grade. He has loved learning many styles of dance. Carter learned to love performance through theater and dance. Theater luckily brought Carter to find my biggest passion, ballroom dance. This is his 4th year dancing ballroom but 2nd year of taking ballroom seriously. Through help from many coaches and choreographers he has had the chance to learn from including Annie Topham, Alex Taylor, Rick Robinson, Kristen Hawkins, and so many others. These leaders and influencers have helped him to become a high level ballroom competitor. While participating with Bingham Ballroom Team, Carter also has maintained a spot on the Quickstep Medley Competition Teams and was graced with the opportunity to compete five dance medleys at the NDCA Ametuer National Competition. In addition to the team success of both Bingham Ballroom Team and Quickstep Medley Teams, Carter has found great success in individual syllabus competition including medaling in American Foxtrot three times, International Waltz twice, American Cha Cha twice, and Paso Doble and Samba once. Carter also enjoyed competing in open taking home ribbons and medals in Rhythm and Ballroom at Gem State. Carter is planning to attend Utah Valley University to major in Hospitality Management and minor in Ballroom Dance. He hopes to dance for UVU’s tour team and join many of his close friends on trips to the prestigious Blackpool international competition. Tyler AtkinsonTyler has loved every second of being on the team this year. The team is his probably favorite group at Bingham, and he loves how close they all are. This is his first big experience with ballroom dance, but he has been in musical theatre for years. Tyler is a full time singer, dancer, and actor. Next year he’s looking forward to being on the Ballroom Team (obviously), as well as in Madrigals, and in the Musical Theatre and Theatre 4 classes. On top of his excessively art filled class load, Tyler is on the Bingham Improv Team and still tries to do community musicals as well. His favorite shows he has been in are Catch Me if You Can and 12 Angry Jurors with Bingham Theatre Company and Music Man with South Jordan Arts Council. Tyler’s favorite styles in ballroom are Lindy Hop, Cha Cha, and Jive, or really anything that gets the heart racing and the blood pumping. He would like to thank his parents for supporting him and putting up with his crazy schedule, along with his friends, his girlfriend, his three team brothers (Evan, Dillan, and Ian), and his three cats. He hopes you enjoy the show, and if you did, why not see him and the Musical Theatre class perform Xanadu at the beginning of May? Tyler is the lead! But for real, he hopes you’re thrilled with this amazing concert put on by even more amazing Bingham Ballroom Team!

Dillan OrrDillan was first introduced into the world of performing arts in 4th grade through a community arts program, and then really got to experience and dive into the world of musical theatre in 8th grade. Dillan first began his Ballroom adventure in 8th grade when he took a Social Ballroom class, and he loved the energy he felt with it and the fun of performing a dance for an audience. He began this year in the Social Ballroom 1 class, but through divine intervention, he was able to be put on the team 2 weeks before the first performance. Playing catchup and having to learn things on the fly this year has been a constant part of his experience, but he wouldn’t have it any other way! Some of his highlights include both tours (Disneyland and Gem State), the competitions, the bus rides associated with both, and the Saturday practices. He will always cherish how close the team is as it’s a family to him, and the dance room feels like home. His favorite styles are Jive and Lindy, but he also loves Waltz and other Standard styles. Some of his hobbies include Improv, D&D, video games, reading, hiking, hanging out with friends, and playing the piano, which he has been doing for 13 years and counting. His nicknames include Dilly Boy (Cade and Ashley), Dill (Nixon and Boston), Dillajandro (Tyler), Double Stuf (Liv), and Big/Little Bro (Tyler, Ian, and Evan), among many others. He wants to thank his mom for being willing to jump into the world of dance and help fund and support him along the way. He wants to thank his neighborhood and theatre friends for putting up with him constantly being busy and supporting him in his endeavors. He wants to thank God for the miraculous events that allowed him to get onto the team, and most of all, he wants to thank the coaches, captains, officers, seniors, and team members for the amazing environment and family they’ve built, he’s never felt more at home with any group of people, it truly is a second family and he’s going to miss the seniors so much once they leave. He hopes you enjoy the concert and that you bawl your eyes out at La La Land and In the Stars (because he does too, every time).

Nixon PondNixon has loved being on the ballroom team these last two years. His highlights are summer practices, getting to know everyone and their personalities, competitions, performances and tour. Watching how the team joins together, learns dances, and in all of that became a family. Nixon has danced for 2 years with the team and in that time taken many private lessons. He mostly played sports before High School. In middle school he participated in a few musicals, one of those was Cinderella where dancing was taught, he watched, learned and danced and was hooked. Nixon enjoys skiing in the winter, boating in the summer, hiking and spending time in the mountains. He dabbles in blacksmithing when he has time. Nixon also takes lots of naps. Nixon wouldn’t be on the team if it wasn’t for his brother, Boston, he pushes him both physically and mentally to be a stronger person and dancer. He would also like to thank his mom who has supported him tremendously, and she is one of the reasons why he did private lessons for this last year, and as far as he knows she will continue to support and help him this next year.
